Services Marketing
Is it possible to market something that cannot be felt, seen or heard? Can you market something that is not there? Many students may quickly answer "no" to these questions, but after studying this course, their answer will soon change.
This course explores the world of marketing services. Students learn how services differ from goods and how marketers create and measure service quality. Marketing services may be more difficult than marketing goods as services are intangible, perishable, variable and inseparable. Students also learn about marketing people, places and ideas.By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Describe the four characteristics of a service
- Understand how services differ from physical goods
- Explain how marketers create and measure service quality
- Describe the marketing strategies for services
- Explain the marketing of people, places and ideas.

Course Requirements
Completion of Year 12 or equivalent or relevant industry experience.
Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course.
Basic computing literacy.
Qualification Obtained
All participants receive a Certificate of Participation.
This course is one of the steps leading to achievement of the Phoenix Academy Diploma of Business course unit, Marketing 500, which is in partial completion of the nationally recognised qualification:
