Senior First Aid Certificate
(HLFTA301B) AQF logo

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualties, the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This course meets WorkSafe - Code of Practice requirements. In addition this course is taken from the Health Training package HLT07 and is in partial completion of Certificate II in Emergency Medical Service First Response. There are no pre-requisites or co-requisites for this competency unit.

Who Should Attend

The course is open to all people over 18 years of age.

Anyone who requires a Senior First Aid qualification and prefers a flexible learning option or anyone who holds a Senior First Aid qualification, or equivalent, which is due for renewal. This course is suitable for those individuals requiring workplace first aid skills.

Course Requirements

  • Prior to attending, all participants must complete the self paced component of the course either online or paper based
  • If you are attending the Refresher Program, clients also need to provide a certified copy of their current Senior First Aid Certificate or equivalent

Course Delivery Methods

The course is offered as a combination of self-paced (online or paper based) and two half day face-to-face classes (both parts A and B) for full qualification or one half day (part A only) for refresher qualification. This flexible learning option allows clients to learn the theory content at a time, place and pace to suit their needs. The half-day 'in class' face-to-face classes are mainly practical.
