Teaching Knowledge Test
(TKT) 
The Teaching Knowledge Test is an intensive four-week course designed to provide an introduction to the theories and techniques for Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language. You will learn to analyse the needs of adults and young learners and have the opportunity to design lessons and resources to meet their learning needs. This course is suitable for people with little or no teaching experience.
Successful candidates will:
- Apply Adult and Young Learner TESOL/TEFL Methodologies to Develop English Language Skills
- Design and Develop Learning Strategies
- Design and Develop Learning Resources
- Identify and Use Basic Grammatical Concepts and Traditional Metalanguage
- Plan an Integrated Lesson using Communicative Language Teaching Methodology
- Use the Terminology of Traditional Grammar and Locate Information in a Grammar Textbook
- Satisfactory completion of the Cambridge TKT course and examination.

Program Requirements
This qualification requires good language, literacy and computing skills and access to a computer with internet access.
Candidates must:
- have reached a standard of education equivalent to university entrance level
- be 20 years of age or be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme
- be competent in written and spoken English in order to follow the course successfully
- complete a written application and pre-interview task
- attend an interview.
